Essential Questions To Ask a Coach Or Mentor

I've had a couple of formal mentors in my career - where the relationship was set up for me. One was more me bumbling, but I got a lot out of the relationship. The other, I went in to the relationship with purpose and strived to create structure, and we didn't mesh as well as two people as I did with my first formal mentor (i.e., set up for me in a professional setting).

I love the mentor - mentee relationship, and I also believe in reverse mentorships.

This list of 16 questions are great food for thought - either to be used verbatim or to use as a springboard to get either the mentor or the mentee thinking so the relationship is as fruitful as possible.
